UPDATE: Supervisor Net Suite version 8.3.2
We have released Supervisor
Net suite of products version 8.3.2 to address a few issues found in the field,
as well as supporting the newer ODBC driver versions which add support for TLS
1.2 and TLS 1.3. A new version of My Monitor is following along shortly to
address the same issue in that product.
KB Article 0121 addresses the ODBC driver version, but for those without ready
access to this article, the content is as follows:
————————————–
Introduction
It has recently become more common for sites to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1. As the
ODBC driver historically used in the ODBC configuration is version 6.x, it’s
not capable of using TLS 1.2 or greater. As a result of this, several of our
applications will stop working:
Supervisor Net Server (DBS)
Supervisor Interface Server (SOAP server)
Supervisor Net Administrator
My Monitor
Fixing the issue
There are a few steps required to fix the issue.
1. Ensure that the Microsoft ODBC driver for SQL Server version 13 or above is
installed on the server.
2. Upgrade Supervisor Net to version 8.3.2 or above and My Monitor version
8.3.2 or above.
3. For an upgrade, run the ‘Database Setup’ application. This will replace the
driver used in the ODBC connection with the latest driver version.
On a new installation, just ensure that the newer ODBC driver is installed
prior to the installation. The latest driver will be used when the ODBC
connection is created.
For sites running earlier versions of Supervisor Net, it is possible to
manually delete the ODBC connection and re-create it, specifying the later
version of ODBC driver; however, My Monitor will still need to be upgraded as
the version of driver to use was hard-coded in earlier versions of My Monitor.

A complete list of changes in this version is as follows:
Supervisor Net
[Feature] #15223 An attachment can now be specified in the ‘Notify Parent’
email template, which is sent to parents when they are linked to a child’s
account
[Change] #15236 Supervisor can now look up a user’s fees and fines from an
external interface, even if the account is configured to synchronise to Active
Directory. This is to accommodate sites where users are imported from AD, but
the site has a library system containing fees and fines for the user. This
feature will only work if there is only one fees and fines external system
configured in the external interface
[Change] #15227 Supervisor Net will now use newer versions of the MS ODBC SQL
Server driver. This driver supports TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 connections. On an
upgrade, the Supervisor Net database setup wizard must be run to change the
driver used in the ODBC connection. On a new installation, the newest ODBC
driver available will automatically be used. Please see KB Article KB0121 for
