UPDATE: Supervisor Net 9.4.4, My Reservation 9.4.2 and Express 9.4.4 have been released
We’ve released updated versions of Supervisor Net, My Reservation and Express. It is strongly recommended that where applicable, these product versions are used together.
The complete list of changes is as follows:
Supervisor Net
[Feature] #17359 The Print Manager API has been enhanced for upcoming versions of Monitor Embedded that support the releasing of prepaid print jobs
[Feature] #17272 The system will now use the page counting information from Web Print for all Cloud Queue jobs for billing the user when the job is released. This will ensure that the user is charged the amount that they were told that they were going to be charged in the situation that there’s a discrepancy between the Web Print page counting and the Print Manager page counting. Options can also currently be added to the Printmanager.exe.config file to collect any files that have a discrepancy in the page counting so that the underlying issue can be fixed on a case by case basis. These options will be added to a user interface in an upcoming version
[Bug Fix] #17287 The job reaper process would stop if it encountered an error, meaning that print queues, (including Cloud Queue), would sometimes have old jobs in them still
[Bug Fix] #17282 The option to keep jobs after printing was not working for the Cloud Queue
Web Administrator
[Bug Fix] #17319 When trying to extend a PC’s reservation session, an error message saying ‘Selected time is busy’ would sometimes be displayed, even if it wasn’t
[Bug Fix] #17295 In the PC Type record, altering the value for ‘Number of successive extensions’ to ‘Unlimited’ would throw an error message
[Bug Fix] #17277 If site and location restrictions were enabled, an admin couldn’t see any transactions in the Accounts -> View Transactions area, if those transactions had a non-null terminal site value.
Only transactions where the terminal’s ‘Site’ in the RTETable is NULL could be seen.
[Bug Fix] #17274 Removing a primary account’s ID made Web Administrator think it had expired
[Bug Fix] #17266 Preview was not working correctly for some print jobs
[Bug Fix] #17225 Dashboard site and locations filters were not working if site and locations restrictions had been enabled for the site
[Bug Fix] #17223 The administrator could not release print jobs for a user if they had a negative Supervisor Net balance
[Bug Fix] #17213 Administrators could sometimes make future reservations outside operating hours. This is only allowed for block reservations
Web Print
[Feature] #17303 Web Print will now send a reply to an email if the attachment filetype is not supported by the system
[Feature] #17286 The Mobile Print Manager has been enhanced to work with Express version 9.4.4 for Print Release functionality
[Feature] #17279 Web Print could get in a loop with a sending email address that has auto-respond enabled, causing the system to be loaded with an endless number of Web Print jobs. In the first part of the fix released in this version, a subject including ‘[Do Not Reply]’ has been added to all emails sent from the system. If this is detected in an incoming email by Web Print, it won’t process the job. In 9.5.0, some RFC email headers will be added to further mitigate this issue
[Bug Fix] #17375 Null subject lines in emails sent to Web Print could cause the email to not be processed
[Bug Fix] #17368 Web Print Manager – Applications calling the Preview API could clash with the same job being converted, sometimes causing the job to be deleted
[Bug Fix] #17349 The timeout when processing documents was set too high, causing the WPM to become unresponsive for a large amount of time. Additional jobs would stop being processed during this time
[Bug Fix] #17346 The WPM was attempting to process Javascript on web pages, which would sometimes cause the web site to remain on ‘Processing’ for the page and not accept any other documents
[Bug Fix] #17328 A race condition in the WPM could hang the WPM when processing PDF documents
[Bug Fix] #17326 The Mobile Print Manager was equating document pages with sheets, which is incorrect. This was causing preview issues in Express
[Bug Fix] #17313 Web Print was not rejecting MacOS ‘Companion’ files, which start with _. characters but have the same extension as normal documents. These couldn’t be processed and sometimes caused the WPM to hang
[Bug Fix] #17302 Web Print was still accepting file types that had been defined in the filetype filter list
[Bug Fix] #17266 Invalid information in some XPS documents was causing the preview system to not work correctly
[Bug Fix] #17226 Emailed documents that were inline attachments were not being processed correctly, causing some images to be doubled up and other images to not be scaled correctly
Monitor Online Ordering
[Feature] #17353 MiniPOS items can now be administered in Online Ordering administrator. The fields required for MiniPOS items have been added to the Items tab
My Reservation (9.4.2)
[Bug Fix] #17341 There was sometimes an error when attempting to restart a Chromebook
[Bug Fix] #17335 Incorrect information was being sent to Web Administrator so the Status column in the Queue Booking tab had incorrect information
[Bug Fix] #17289 Chromebooks with no name could cause the reservation system to crash
[Bug Fix] #17281 Users with a walk-up reservation could use the device until the next future or queue reservation regardless of the session time
[Bug Fix] #17256 Logging into a computer that was reserved with a block booking after the session tart time would cause an error message to appear
[Bug Fix] #17234 If the clock was set incorrectly on a PC, the sessions displayed in the Summary tab of Web Administrator could be overlapped
[Bug Fix] #17216 Users were able to extend their sessions beyond closing time on a Chromebook
[Bug Fix] #17215 The configured number of session extensions allowed by the user was not paid attention to
Computer Reservation Website
[Bug Fix] #17315 The list of computers in the Computer drop-down were not in alphabetical order
[Bug Fix] #17314 Changing location did not update the list of computers in the computer drop-down
Computer Reservation Kiosk
[Feature] #12414 An on-screen keyboard can now be displayed by the user for use on a kiosk
Supervisor Express
[Feature] #17241 The instructions for the Print Release and Print Kiosk output printers have been updated to indicate that a queue needs to be selected for pricing purposes, even if jobs are being printed later
[Feature] #16590 The ability to turn on stock limitations for the MiniPOS feature has been added. This works in conjunction with Monitor Online Ordering, where MiniPOS items can now also be added
[Change] #17348 In print Release mode, the ‘Back’ and ‘Preview’ buttons are now hidden when the job’s attributes are being changed to prevent race conditions that caused errors with the job
[Change] #17257 The Print Release workflow has been changed when Express is configured for ‘Print Later’ only and all jobs have already been paid for. At the job selection screen, all jobs are marked as paid, a message is displayed, “All jobs are paid and are ready to be released”, and the ‘Select All’, ‘Preview’ and ‘Next’ buttons are disabled
[Change] #17240 Express was previously releasing print jobs for Print Job ID sessions, even if the release mode was set to ‘Print Later’. With the gradual introduction of MFDs supporting the release of pre-paid jobs, this has now been changed so that even Print Job ID jobs are held for release in this situation
[Change] #17059 Practical limitations on the minimum Print Job ID length have been removed, with the value being lowered to a minimum of 3 characters
[Bug Fix] #17364 In the situation where a user with a Supervisor Net account was logging into Print Release with a print job ID and paying using EFTPOS, the EFTPOS value was being credited to the wrong account, making the job fail to release
[Bug Fix] #17347, 17323 In Print Release mode, the print job was being deleted by mistake under several conditions, including if the EFTPOS payment was cancelled or if it timed out on the payment selection screen
[Bug Fix] #17261 In Print Release mode, the system would delete the print job if the job was being released by Print Job ID and the user clicked to go back on the payment page
[Bug Fix] #17238 In Print Release mode, Express was displaying an error message ‘Invalid Amount. Please select a higher amount’ when trying to proceed to the EFTPOS payment screen, even though the job’s cost fell between the valid minimum and maximum transaction value
[Bug Fix] #17218 The card settings page in the configuration had no way of removing entries once they were added, and it was possible to add duplicate card prefixes
[Bug Fix] #17126 The transfer balance feature was no longer working. The ability to use the same card reader for source and destination accounts has also been added
[Bug Fix] #17113 Previewing files in Print Release or Print Kiosk modes could make Express crash
[Bug Fix] #17058 If the only option for Buy Ticket mode was a free ticket, the calculator function was still offering to sell a ticket rather than just adding funds to an existing Supervisor account which was causing an error page to be displayed to the user
[Bug Fix] #17047 In lower screen resolutions, the ‘Number of copies’ button for the Print Release mode attributes page was too narrow and hard to press
[Bug Fix] #17046 In Print Release mode, on the job selection page, if jobs had been selected and then the Preview button was clicked, when the user returned to the list of available jobs, their previous selections had been removed
[Bug Fix] #17029 On lower resolution screens, the Next button would be cut off in the Print Release and Print Kiosk functions
These are available to download now from Filemanager.
