UPDATE: Express version 9.4.5 has been released
The latest version of Monitor Express has been released. Express is the Monitor solution that runs on both Kiosks and Desktops that act like self-serving kiosk stations. This version of Monitor Express has a range of fixes and changes for the USB Print Kiosk mode of operation.
One important thing to note is that submitting jobs using CASH and EFTPOS will result in the jobs being released immediately upon payment (Regardless of the configured release mode), as the current version of Supervisor Net does not support the generation of Print Job IDs for this mode of operation, so the users therefore have no way to release jobs later at an MFD. In Supervisor Net 9.5.0 this will now be supported, so there will be an accompanying version of Express that will print an ID on the receipt that can then be used to release the jobs later.
A complete list of changes is as follows:
[Feature] #17422 All missing terminal types have been added to the display in the configuration application at the bottom of the page. These display the licenses in use for the different functions within Express
[Change] #17454 The workflow for USB job submission when paying by cash or EFTPOS has been temporarily changed. When the mode is ‘Print Later Only’ or ‘Print Now Or Later’, Express will still release these jobs immediately, as there is no Print Job ID generated for these jobs in Supervisor Net 9.4.x, so therefore no way for users to release these jobs later. This is being corrected in Supervisor Net 9.5.0 and above, and there will be a later release of Express to reflect this
[Bug Fix] #17453 If you configured Express USB Kiosk feature to ‘Print now or later’, Supervisor Net account users were not prompted as to what they want to do – Express just released the job immediately
[Bug Fix] #17452 For USB Print Kiosk, setting the mode to ‘Print Later Only’ and logging in using Supervisor Net account details was then marking any job submitted as prepaid. This would mean that the user would never be charged for this print job when it was finally released, as they are not charged initially at the Express kiosk either
[Bug Fix] #17438 A user with a zero balance (or below) was not able to log into the Print Release function, even though it was still possible to pay for any jobs using cash or EFTPOS
[Bug Fix] #17392 Casual Ticket – No email address was generated if only ‘Auto-generate email address’ was ticked
[Bug Fix] #17384 Express was not supporting pricing model extensions for Laundry being sent to it for device activation when the user activated the device using the Laundry Monitor website. This change also requires Supervisor Net version 9.4.5 or above
[Bug Fix] #16185 Supervisor Net users logging into the USB Print Kiosk feature with a zero balance would be told that they have insufficient funds, even though they are not charged for uploading their print jobs
