My Monitor 1.13.0
Changes aplenty for My Monitor.
Monitor has received feedback from some private schools and public libraries with regards to My Monitor and how it could be enhanced. As with all customer feedback, Monitor has addressed these comments and has made changes to better suit these markets. My Monitor 1.13.0 has been released to cater for these changes as well as some modifcations in Supervisor Net 7.2.
The changes that have occurred in My Monitor are outlined below.
- The main login screen can now be changed radically to better reflect the site’s look and feel. The login panel can be made to float over any one of 9 areas of the screen in a horizontal or vertical position.
- An option has been added to hide zero value transactions in the statements.
- Additional security features have been added to protect child accounts being hacked. 1. A parent account will be disabled if they fail to supply a proper child code 10 times in a row. 2. An option has been added which when enabled will ask the user of the child account whether or not they want to grant the parent account access.
- A new option called External Interface has been added to user login methods. This feature uses Supervisor Net’s external interface system to authenticate users directly against and external system, such as a library management system. Users can log in using a username and password or an email address and password.
- An option has been added to remove the lost password link on the login page.
- An option has been added to enable parents to also have a Supervisor Net account. In this situation, the parent sees their own account at the top of the account lists, and their children’s accounts below. This is used in schools when staff members are also parents; or at a public library where parents are members of the library as well.
- If the option above is enabled, users creating parent accounts will be asked if they have a Supervisor Net account (message is configurable). If they tick ‘Yes’, a password entry box will appear. If they don’t tick yes, they will have to enter a unique email address; as they have historically.
- The words to use for Username, Password, Student and Parent are now customisable. All instances of these words throughout the application are changed.
- The instructions on the account creation form are now customisable.
- The initial state of the configuration option to allow transfer of funds from an account is now configurable. The site can now determine how they want this to be by default.
