Interactive Popup is released

Interactive Popup is one of the new features included in the latest release of Supervisor Net 7.1.4.

Monitor is pleased to announce the release of Supervisor Net version 7.1.4. This version sees the official release of the Interactive Popup as well as three other new features to Monitor’s print management solution.

The details of each new feature are below:

Interactive Popup – Organisations will have the ability for users to receive a message asking them a question when they submit print jobs. Depending on the user’s response to that question, they will either be presented with another question or their print job will be released.

An example of where this may be used: A site wants to persuade its users to print in black and white without strictly enforcing conversion to black and white. Every time the user prints, they are asked if they would like to convert the job to black and white.  If they answer ‘No’, the job continues to print in colour. If they answer ‘Yes’, the job is converted to black and white before being printed.

Convert Jobs to Black & White – Print jobs can now be converted to black and white as part of a rule using Monitor Print. An example of this is where a certain user is prohibited from printing in colour so all their print jobs will be converted to B&W even if they try to print in colour.

Convert Jobs to Duplex – Print jobs can now be converted to duplex as part of a rule using Monitor Print. An example of this is where a certain user is prohibited from printing simplex so all their print jobs will be converted to duplex even if they try to print simplex.

New Release Mode – A new release mode has been added to Monitor Print called ‘Popup or Release’. This mode is similar to a normal Popup queue except that the print job will automatically resume printing if the user who printed the job is not running the popup client.

The converting of jobs to Black & White and to Duplex are dependent on the type of copier and print drivers that the copier uses.
