Honeywell look to a Monitor solution
Honeywell create a cashfree environment on site.
Monitor are working in partnership with Honeywell in Queensland, Australia to deploy a transaction management system at Inpex Mining Village located just outside of Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory. The combined expertise of Honeywell and Monitor will result in an integrated system which removes administrative staff intervention and creates a self-service and cashfree situation for miners on site.
The Monitor solution facilitates a cash free environment on site. Honeywell’s access card will be used to pay for goods and services onsite, including the retail store, restaurant & bar and the forward order system. Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) from Honeywell will be used to hold the miners account details and Monitor’s Supervisor Net software will keep track of the users account balance
Inpex will have three of Monitor’s new AL9000 Kiosks which will enable the workforce to check themselves in onsite. When employees arrive, they will swipe their site card at the kiosk which will record their arrival. The system will advise employees of their room number and code their cards for access to their accomodation.
The Monitor system will enable employees to use their site card to access to reserve and pay for facilities and assets on site. These include things such as the tennis courts and equipment, sports equipment, DVD’s etc. Miners can also use the same system to reserve and pay for PC usage on site.
The Monitor system will allow miners to access Inpex’s wireless internet on their own internet-enabled device such as a laptop, smartphone or tablet. Employees are guaranteed fair and equitable use of the bandwidth through the internet rules created in the software solution.
Monitor’s point of sale system, iPOS, is also being used in the retail store and restaurant & bar. Employees can pay for goods using their site card. This “account only” store environment speeds transactions and greatly reduces the amount of cash on hand within the village. This is of benefit to the store operators and the employees as cash security is always a major consideration on site. In addition to the store based POS system, Employees will be able to use a web based portal to order items which will be delivered to their accomodation.
The ‘Go Live’ Date for Honeywell is expected to be April 2013.
