On-the-Go adopted by Diocesan School for Girls Auckland
The changing of some of Auckland’s bus routes recently caused an unusual challenge for Auckland Diocesan School for Girls. Many of the students rely on public transport to get to school, and when their options became limited, the school turned to Monitor.
Dio is no stranger to Monitor’s ability to create custom solutions. For years the school has enjoyed the full benefits of Monitor Print, and our integrated Point of Sale System, provided to them through Monitor’s partnering reseller Fuji Xerox. More recently Dio have added the Monitor Online Ordering system to allow parents to buy lunches online for their junior school children.
Monitor prides itself on its ongoing updates and improvements, and this includes keeping in touch with our existing clients. It was as part of an ongoing client care conversation that the issue of buses was raised, and Monitor was able to come up with a solution that perfectly fit the needs of the school. Dio organised the buses, mapped out the routes and hired the drivers, while Monitor provided On the Go, a handheld system for drivers to easily and quickly process the students stepping onto their bus.
A commuting student needs reliable and cheap transport. Dio consulted with Monitor to work out the pricing plans, giving students options such as 10-trip and full-term passes. Everything was plugged into Dio’s existing suite of Monitor products. For parents already familiar with topping up their children’s accounts using the My Monitor online portal, there was no new system to learn or third-party involvement.
Monitor works hard to make things easy.
Dio now has a suite of solutions that has caught up with their needs. In the future, the school is moving away from barcode scanning to proximity cards, and Monitor will be right there with them to provide the most efficient software and hardware solutions to the ever-changing demands of a large school in a fast-paced city.
