Guardian Angels Primary School
Guardian Angels School is a Catholic school in the Sisters of Mercy tradition, based in Ashmore on the beautiful Gold Coast of Queensland. The school has a roll of just over 750 students.
The need arose at the school uniform shop for a POS system that could provide for simple administration and front counter tools, as well as inventory reporting for the administrational stakeholders. Another issue that required attention was the handling of second-hand uniforms. The uniform shop convenor had historically kept manual records of uniform that was purchased from parents for resale, but this process was difficult logistically and required an inordinate amount of effort to report on. Other than these basic operational requirements, the uniform shop required a very basic POS deployment – essentially an all-in-one system that would run on a regular computer in the shop.
MonitorBM worked with the school to deploy a single Monitor iPOS license that was installed locally in the school on a single PC. We then worked with the stakeholders on-site to set up the shop, creating a simple touchscreen deployment that allowed for a seamless transition with a single training session provided on-site. The second-hand uniform function was delivered by issuing parents with credit notes when they bought second-hand uniforms to the store – these credit notes could be used by parents at a later date to purchase other items from the store. Administration staff could, on-demand, generate a report to show the outstanding accounts and balances to provide snapshot reporting of the current credit balance represented by the outstanding credit notes. After a period of bedding, the new system in, Guardian Angels uniform shop is now trading per the original brief and noticing marked improvements in the process. MonitorBM is excited to have Guardian Angels Primary School as a new partner site, and we look forward to a productive association with the school.
