Latest Library Installations

We here at MonitorBM have recently completed a few interesting Library projects, over 11 branches with clients in NSW and Victoria.

Newcastle Libraries came to us for a variety of Monitor solutions over all nine of their branches, which we have just completed the fit-out for! 10 Notecoin & Eftpos enabled MK3000 Kiosks were installed across the nine sites that allow users access to multiple functions and reduce staff time handling money. Users to the libraries can now use the kiosks to ,load/reload funds onto their existing library cards, pay fees & fines, reserve computers within the library, issue casual tickets if they don’t have an existing library card as well as purchase items using the MiniPOS system like Bags & USB sticks right there at the kiosk! We have supplied them with licenses for 100 computers using our PC reservation solution and Print facilities on 12 Embedded Printers, which has given them both web & mobile print capabilities. These printers have also been installed with a barcode scanner for ease of use with library cards and guest tickets with the accompaniment of LMS authentication. As well as the 10 Kiosks we installed we also integrated to all 14 of their FE Technology Self-Check kiosks they already had on-site. The integration allows patrons to be able to pay their fees & fines at these kiosks using their MonitorBM account loaded on their Library Card.
We supplied the Newcastle Library team with 9 iPOS licenses (Point of sale) and users can pay Fees and Fines at the POS terminal via notes & coins, integrated Eftpos and via library card! Team members can scan their security key cards to process any sale which results in recorded accountability.
Line too long for a Kiosk? We also supplied Newcastle with My Monitor, a web-based platform that allows you to pay fees & fines, create guest accounts and top up your account online at any time from any device!
Finally, on top off all these MonitorBM solutions, we added Facility reservation (which could be rooms, equipment etc) and they registered to have 35 assets over 8 locations!

With all these solutions needing to be connected between all 11 branches and as well as needing to be outside of their corporate network. We fully hosted their whole platform for them – off-site!
Installation was a seamless success, with plenty more room to take advantage of some of our other library solutions in the future!

Willoughby Library was another project we’ve recently worked on which they took advantage of a handful of our solutions including; Print, Kiosks, PC Reservation, Webprint, and iPOS. With our print solution, we integrated into 4 embedded copiers to give functions such as print, copy, scan and added barcode scanners to each of these for again ease of use with library cards & guest tickets. With the addition of Web/Mobile print, users can print from most places on location.
We installed 2 x AL9000 kiosks on-site to allow users to reload their accounts, pay fees & fines and have the ability to purchase non-LMS products on MiniPOS such as Bags & USB sticks. We supplied them with PC reservation for up to 35 computers and added 7 new iPOS stations. These stations function as point of sale, payment of fees & fines (with LMS integration) payments can be taken from Library cards/Eftpos and staff scan in access to ensure security and accountability using Iclass cards. Our LMS connection via SIP is a vital tool that makes a lot of processes seamless.

Lastly, we recently completed a fit-out in Hobson Bay Library. Hosted on-site, our solutions here included Print, PC Reservation, Facility Reservation, My Monitor and full integration to Bibliotheca self-check Kiosks. Again, here we set up our Print solution on 5 embedded printers with barcode scanners with Webprint added to allow ease of use. PC Reservation for up to 90 computers as well as Facility Reservation. LMS integration was done via AMLIB using SIP2. But one of the important things about this install was the full integration to the existing 11 Bibliotheca self-check kiosks. Previously we integrated in a way to only allow Fees & Fines to be paid at these kiosks, but with some development here we were able to activate reloading off an account as well! (instead of online or at a Monitor Kiosk) So now users can: Check out a book, pay their fine and add more funds to their Monitor/Library account all at one kiosk!
